It’s never too early to start thinking about and planning for life beyond school for all students, but especially for our students with disabilities.
That’s why BUILD T/E as part of the PA Inclusion Collective has once again partnered with neighboring school district parent groups in Cheltenham, Lower Merion, Methacton, North Penn, Radnor, and Upper Dublin along with the PEAL Center to offer our T/E families and educators a 4-part virtual series this February. The series titled"Starting with the End in Mind” will outline how an inclusive educational experience starting in the earliest grades lays the foundation for a successful and inclusive adulthood in the community for all students.
Our featured speakers will be award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib and his son Samuel Habib, a 23-year old college student and aspiring multimedia producer, who will share their work and perspective for building a roadmap that will prepare students with disabilities for transition to higher education and integrated employment as adults. Through their films, Dan and Samuel tell powerful stories that illustrate the importance of presuming competence for all and truly preparing students with disabilities for the life they want to live.
