FINAL NOTE FROM THE HSA PRESIDENT AND BOARD

We had such a successful and fun 2022-2023 school year! We are so grateful for our BES community who donated, volunteered and participated in many of our classes and events throughout the year. We could not do it without you! On behalf of the HSA board, thank you and have a great summer!

BES PLAYGROUND AND SAFTEY UPGRADES

Thank you for all your generous donations this year! In the spring we were excited to hear that the T/E district was going to make some significant upgrades to our playground in the near future and that allowed us to pivot our focus for our capital campaign to playground and safety upgrades at Beaumont. Some of those upgrades purchased were a bench for the walkers and a bench for the playground, signs for events and safety, a new picnic table for the playground, a pedestrian sign for the walkers, and walker banners just to name a few. Mr. Joe was also able to hand sew window coverings for many of the school rooms after our emergency preparedness day. These additions would not have been possible without your help. Thank you again!

MESSAGE FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE

Per the District Medication Policy (School Board Policy 5406): Students may not transport prescription or nonprescription medications to and from school without an order to carry these medications. Therefore, a parent or guardian must pick up any remaining medications from the nurse’s office by the last student day.  The policy also specifies that any medications which remain after the last day of school must be discarded.

In preparation for the next school year:  There are a few steps to complete the process for your child to receive prescription or over-the-counter medications in school.

·      A new Doctor’s order is required each school year for a child to receive prescription or over-the-counter medications in school.

·      Upload all medication orders in Power School. This is done under “forms”  in the   “emergency medical card.”

·      Send a hardcopy of the order to school in case there is a problem with uploading the form.

·      A parent or guardian must bring all medications to school in September in the original pharmacy container (with a label indicating the child’s name, physician’s name, drug, dose, directions for administering, and date of prescription).

We wish you a happy and healthy summer and we look forward to caring for your children in the fall.

MESSAGE FROM THE BEAUMONT LIBRARY

Ms. Taylor would like to thank all of the students and parents that have made our library program successful this year.  The fourth grade helpers innovative suggested by Mrs. Thompson was a great success.  The fourth grade students were eager to help in the library from checking out books to helping younger students to shelving books. This program helped foster a sense of leadership among the fourth graders.  The younger students were eager to see their siblings and friends helping in the library. We were fortunate to have numerous parents generously offer their time to shelf books, check books out to students, cut, staple and so much more. Our library program would not have been as successful without all of YOUR help.

THANK YOU!

COMMUNITY SERVICE
BEAUMONT 4TH GRADERS PARTNER WITH CONESTOGA GUIDES CLUB MEMBERS TO MAKE REUSABLE BAGS
On the afternoon of June 6th, the Beaumont 4th graders had the opportunity to work on a unique project with members of the Conestoga High School GUIDES Club. This club is focused on developing positive community relationships, promoting service, and offering opportunities for student leadership.

Club members conducted a drive at CHS to collect used T-Shirts to repurpose as T-Shirt Bags (https://thethingswellmake.com/recycled-t-shirt-bags-review-of-7-ways/). To foster community relationships and promote environmental awareness, club members then had a Zoom session with BES 4th graders where they worked together (virtually) on creating reusable bags that the students were then able to take home to prevent waste from plastic/paper bags. Fun was had by all, and we hope to continue this partnership in the future.

Below are a few pictures of some of our 4th graders engaged in this activity!
