SUBJECT: BES SPECIAL BLAST: Thank You For A Wonderful School Year!

BES SPECIAL BLAST
JUNE 12, 2024
A Final Note from the HSA Board

The HSA Board is thankful for a wonderful year building programming and events that create community and raise funds for our amazing school. Over the course of the last 9 months, we've created special memories for our students via events like the Winter Ball, Trunk or Treat, and the Movie Night. Students have also had the chance to learn through special assemblies and experiences by authors, the Bee Man, a dinosaur dig and teepee construction. The HSA organized the Book Fair and Winter Holiday Shop, which taught our students about the spirit of generosity and budgeting. We were pleased to offer three sessions of After School Clubs - teaching everything from STEM to Jump Rope to Taylor Swift fandom to 350 students. Our VP of Community Service brought community impact opportunities to our classrooms- from food drives to decorating grocery boxes for seniors, to making coping boxes for siblings of hospitalized children. Beaumont families raised funds for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia via the Walking Club, and Hope for Hoey. The HSA Board and volunteers have been busy! We want to THANK YOU for partnering with us to support our Beaumont students and the greater community.

The HSA Board is also happy to report a successful 2023-2024 fiscal year with over $55,000 in funds raised!  The Board stayed on budget for the use of funds, with 32% being spent on grade level activities/teacher requests, 24% being spent on Cultural Arts Assemblies and 14% spent on a new poster maker for the school. Because of the generosity of Beaumont families, and the success of the events like Spring Carnival, Book Fair and our after-school clubs, the HSA was able to purchase additional wish list items by grade level and for our support classrooms for things like:

- Extra recess supplies

- Sensory Bubble Tank for the Special Education classroom

- Cricut and poster maker to support visual aids in the classrooms

- Extra bookshelves for our growing classroom libraries

- Flexible seating options for classrooms

- White boards for 3rd graders

Next year, we're budgeting to raise a similar amount of funds through After School Clubs, Book Fairs, and volunteer-led family events such as Winter Ball, Winter Secret Shop and Spring Carnival.   We are planning to spend the entirety of our funds raised as well as a good portion of the excess funds from the 2023-2024 school year.  Your volunteer board is actively working with teachers to brainstorm ways to effectively utilize funds raised to benefit all grades and specials.  We welcome all fundraising ideas (and help!) as well as ideas to use the funds to benefit our children.  Please join us at the next HSA meeting in September to get involved!  https://www.beaumonthsa.org/finance

Finally, we want to thank Bridgid Burkert, our Lead Treasurer, and Katie Parker, our secretary, for their time on our Board as this is their final term with us. We appreciate your leadership!  The HSA Board for 2024-2025 will be as follows:

A BIG THANK YOU!!!

On behalf of the Beaumont Library, Ms. Taylor would like to thank everyone for all of their support this school year.  We had a record-breaking amount of eager volunteers who generously offered their time to lend a hand in the library. In addition, our Read-a-thon was HUGELY successful!  We were able to add over 600 new books to our shelves including decodable books for our new readers.   We also purchased a subscription to MackinVia which will allow students to check out e-books next school year!  Words cannot express how much ALL of your support is appreciated!
