Creating a Culture of Peace through Conflict Resolution
What is it?
On the International Day of Peace, also known as Peace Day, people around the world take part in various activities and organize events centered on the theme of peace. The students will participate in cross grade level activities during the school day related to peace and conflict resolution.
When is it?
The International Day of Peace is always held on September 21st but at school we will celebrate on Friday, September 27th.
What will happen?
Beaumont students will be engaged in cross grade activities as they develop a personal understanding of peace. This year students will focus on conflict resolution. They will learn to identify feelings associated with conflict, ways to calm down when managing conflict and strategies for solving conflicts peacefully.
What do the kids need?
Beaumont students are encouraged to wear red for Peace Day. Children will also be having a Peace Picnic during lunch and should bring a beach towel or small blanket to sit on during that time. As always students are welcome to bring their lunch, or they can purchase a lunch from the cafeteria. Cafeteria choices will be French bread pizza, PBJ or veggie burger.
