BEAUMONT BOOK FAIR OCTOBER 14 - 18

The book fair is coming to Beaumont next week, 10/14-10/18.  This is something the kids look forward to every year and it is a great way to get the kids excited for their nightly reading.  The students will have the opportunity to visit the book fair with their classes to create a "wish list" and then the students will come back to the book fair with their class or at a specific time that is designated by the teacher to make a purchase.   The process may vary slightly by grade, but everyone will have the opportunity to visit the fair.  Parents can send the students with money to purchase books on the first day they visit the fair or you can wait to view the wish list.  Parents can set up an eWallet, which is similar to a gift card, send in cash or a check made out to the Beaumont HSA.  Please note there will be tax in addition to the book price.  More information on this will come home in their back packs by Friday.  If you would like to find out more about it now, please follow this link:

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Book Fair can not be made possible without the help from volunteers. The students need help finding books that are appropriate for their age, the younger ones need help writing down the titles of books and finding the price, counting money and so much more. Please consider volunteering where your schedule allows.  The class schedule and volunteer sign up can be found here:

https://signup.com/go/PGTdowo

We look forward to seeing everyone at the book fair!

Caring Bears Committee

The Caring Bears Committee was launched in Fall 2020 as a way to support and/or recognize members of our Beaumont Elementary School community who may have achieved something extraordinary or experienced a significant life event or challenge.

Examples of some of the events the Committee has recognized include: student achievements/awards; family achievements or celebrations; illnesses/injuries/bereavement; and BES staff marriages and babies.

The Committee delivers sweet, stuffed Beaumont Bears to school community members who have experienced one of these life events. The Committee also has a program involving BES 4th grade students who are able to show support and care for classmates by writing Caring Bears cards to fellow students at card-writing centers organized in the 4th grade classrooms. The Caring Bears look forward to growing their impact on the BES school community in the years to come!

Do you know a Beaumont family who would appreciate outreach from the Caring Bears? Send an email to caringbears@beaumonthsa.org.

About The Halloween Helpers

The Halloween Helpers was conceived in 2008 by then 11-year-old Emma Rose Shapiro while sorting through costumes from years past. The young community servant realized that there are children fortunate enough to get a new costume every year and those who do not even get one in their brief childhood.  Emma's goal is to enlist children who outgrow or become disinterested in previous years' costumes and share them with kids in our own community who would not typically receive them. Through this one simple effort, Emma’s ultimate objective is to provide children with life-long memories, develop self-worth, and “level the playing field” among all children.

GotSneakers? Fundraiser

GotSneakers is a sustainable community service fundraiser, gently used SNEAKERS are collected to support those in need globally. The sneaker recycling program helps keep sneakers out of landfills, which has harmful effects on our environment. The GOTSNEAKERS program rewards the collection efforts with a small monetary reward that goes to the Conestoga Track & Field Booster Club! The program is truly a win – win!

As of September 16, 2024, all the TE Schools will host GotSneakers collection boxes in their entryways for new & gently used SNEAKERS. Since 2023 the TE School District has donated over 1500  pairs of sneakers globally while supporting our Running Teams & a sustainable environment.  Click here for SNEAKER GUIDELINES.

GREEN CORNER
Cafeteria Composting at Beaumont

This school year Beaumont Elementary School will be partnering with Mother Compost to initiate a cafeteria composting program.  Mother Compost is a commercial composting company who provides off-site composting services for residences, commercial entities and schools. We hope to convert most of the cafeteria waste to usable compost through Mother Compost's services. Beaumont Elementary School is one of the first public schools in SE PA to start a program like this! The program is being funded by a grant provided by the Chester County Solid Waste Authority.  We will be launching the program this coming week!

Beaumont Families....Do You Want to Compost At Home?

Due to rising interest in the program, Mother Compost is offering Beaumont families $15 off after the free month of service with the code BEAUMONT15.  If you use this link to sign up, you will also get $10 off your subscription renewal.
