Beaumont Elementary welcomes Ben Hartranft as we kick off Autism Awareness month!

Ben Hartranft will be coming to speak to the entire BES student body on Wednesday, March 19th.  Ben is living his dream speaking full time about his experience with autism. His family has come alongside him to help and provide more detail on his life and the resources needed to help Ben succeed.  https://www.benergy1.com/about-the-family

We ask that BES students wear RED on the day of his visit (Wednesday, March 19th) to show Ben our Beaumont spirit and give him a big welcome to our school!

A Night at the Races is an audience-participation event where actual horse races are shown to recreate the fun and excitement of being at the racetrack. You will receive a program which lists the races and all the horses. If you have the winning horse, you'll win $50! It is a thrilling and immersive fundraiser for our school and a night to remember!

Reminder About the Use of Electronic Devices

At the elementary school level, the use of personal electronic devices in the classroom or in the instructional environment is not permitted without specific permission from the teacher. At the elementary level, we discourage students from having a phone unless one is needed for communication with parents/family members outside of the school day. During the school day, phones must be turned off and kept in the student’s backpack.

Smartwatches are permitted to be worn by students to be used as a watch only. If a smartwatch is used for texting, internet access, or calling during the school day, the student will be asked to place it in his/her backpack. If a student needs to contact a parent during the school day, the student should ask the teacher, office, or nurse so the adults at school are aware and can assist and support the student.

For students in grades 3 and 4, no personal electronic devices are permitted in the upcoming PSSA testing sessions at any time. Teachers will collect all smartwatches and ensure that any phones are in backpacks.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

(Reference School Board Policy and Regulation 5414)
